In April of 2021, we were remodeling the RV in Springfield Il. Tom’s brother lived there and owned some land where they were willing to let us come remodel it. We did not have a car because we did not have a tow vehicle nor did we have the RV set up to tow a vehicle. Mother needed to get back to Oceanside CA for her monthly commitment so she booked a flight she would take off at Chicago’s Airport. Mother has always looked for as she calls it “artsy-fartsy” hotels. She found a hotel that is a hotel but also a museum she booked it. The hotel 21C museum hotel. We got to Chicago all of us were hungry. We went to Rock bottom bar and grill. We sat on the rooftop and enjoyed the city view with a pretzel that Em and I shared. After we ate we went back to the hotel to relax. Once we had our fill of relaxing and some showering we headed down to Lake Michigan we sat and enjoyed the lake for a little bit we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner mom had a friend that lived in Chigaco so went out to dinner with her and her children she had a 14-year-old and a 21-22-year-old after dinner we walked around the ice skating rink and then we went back to the hotel. The next morning we got up and has some breakfast at  Stans donuts it was a super good shop for donuts. We then dropped mom off at the airport Tom had made some reservations for the Linkon park zoo. Tom used to live in Chigaco so he knew a bit of what to do. We had some time to kill so we rode the L for a little bit it was cool. Then we got off of the L and got an uber to the Linkon park zoo. We had to wait for a bit before we could get into the zoo. We saw a dude who had an ice cream stand but right as we got up to get some he rode away. We all wanted something cold so Em and Tom went and got some Starbucks. We drank the drinks at the park right next to the zoo. We went inside and got a wheelchair for me then we were off. It is not fun having a wheelchair with people who don’t care or pay attention so please if you see someone in a wheelchair be nice and don’t cut them off or walk in front of them when they are moving. We saw a few camels and some Hyenas. None of the animals were that active except the Hyenas they were fighting for some food that was the interesting thing we got to see. We spent only like an hour there and then we were done. After we were all tired (Em and Tom were the most I got to sit the whole time). We decided that we wanted some food Tom wanted us to experience the whole Chigaco experience so we went to Giordano’s for some dinner. After a long day, we went back to the hotel. The next morning we woke up. We went and looked at all the artwork that the hotel had because it was a museum too. My favorite artwork was the temple made out of shells that were from a gun. Tom had a day full of fun planned up ahead. We e went to the Tilt. It’s one of the tallest buildings in Chicago. It was a small line and bag check before you waited your turn to go up on the elevator. We went up the elevator and got in line for the tilt you are on the 94th floor so it is a pretty long drop if you drop. The Tilt is a ride where it is kinda like a window but it tilts out over everything hence it’s name “The Tilt” It was kinda scary as all what you saw was down at one point it went all the way out. The worst-case scenarios were going through my head at the moment so I gripped onto the bars as my life depended on it I also said a quick goodbye just in case. Once that was done we got out of the ride got our photo and they had a bar up there so Tom got a drink and I 5and Em got some water. We sat there for a little bit then we went through the gift shop. Mom’s thing is shot glasses and we found one so we got it Em got a keychain of the BEAN. After that, we walked a little bit and found a cute little coffee shop called “Goddess and the baker” it was an amazing place and had awesome vibes. I got a pride latte pin. We then went to the Art Institute. Overall it had a lot of history and the paintings were amazing but I have to say the Ammo Chapel at the hotel wins. We spent a good 3 hours there so we decided we needed to eat so we went to Gino’s pizza where we had some stuffed pizza it was super good but SUPER filling. Sadly we were done with Chigaco and we headed back to the hotel to get everything the hopped in the car and drove back to where we were staying. We made some stops on the way one-stop was Avanti’s. Tom used to go to Collage right by that place and he had the fastest record of getting a sandwich in time for the show to start back up again after the ads. I didn’t eat a Sandwich but Tom and Em said it was super good so I will take their word for it. We got back to where we were staying Ruth and Lathams and talked to them and relaxed. That was our Chicago trip from my point of view. Thank you for reading and have a great day or night!!
